The Grati family has been growing grapes and olives in Rùfina for five generations.



The XVI century Villa di Vetrice was built around an old XIII century watchtower.

The tradition continues although the members of the current generation no longer go to Florence in carts drawn by powerful white oxen to deliver straw covered flasks of wine.

 

Today, they receive their clients in the estate's tasting room.The estate includes the "vinsantaia" - where the sweet, dessert wine, "Vin Santo" is made - the farm buildings and the family's private chapel. The hospitality it offers is as pure and genuine as the bouquet of its wines.
